This week, we are taking a look at our top 5 tiles for Spring 2021. Some of this year’s biggest interior design trends will be coming into full bloom over spring and we can’t wait!

Terrazzo, Cottagecore, Eco Chic, Warm Colours, Rustic Vogue… these trends were made for spring, and our tiles are here to deliver.

Spring has sprung and there is no better time of year to get inspired and start transforming your home. There is an urge to throw open the windows and let in the crisp, fresh air. We want light, we want soft pretty colours, we want to throw on a sundress (with a big chunky cardigan, of course), and we want to create spaces that breathe.

1. FABULA Robur

Fabula is a collection of natural wood effect porcelain stoneware that tells a wonderful tale of the discovery of three extremely precious kinds of wood and continues their faithful reproduction.

Fabula range in the shade ‘Robur’

I love wood-effect porcelain for all kinds of reasons. It is extremely durable, so you can say goodbye to worn out floorboards and eyesore scratches. Wood effect porcelain can also be used with underfloor heating, which is perfect for those still-chilly spring evenings. The shade Robur in this range gives off so much light that the space feels calm and spacious and remains striking with very little dressing.

With stave sizes, 30x120cm and 20x120cm, a Chevron 20x120cm pattern and a slat size 5.7x60cm, Fabula adapts to any natural wood effect floor and wall covering project in residential and commercial environments.

2. Roma White

Without question, Terrazzo is here to stay. One of 2020’s most dominant trends, Terrazzo offers an incredibly stylish and elegant alternative to marble or granite.

In fact, Terrazzo has been so popular in recent years, even The Independent got on the bandwagon with their article “Italian Interiors Trend: How to Bring the Italian Trend to Your Home.”

We are proud to offer the Roma range as of March 2021.

Featuring shards of colour ranging from rusted red to sapphire blue, the Roma range brings a sense of playfulness. With base colours of Dark, White, or Silver Grey, Roma is perfect to bring a youthful sense of fun. Dynamic and different, Roma is available in a 25x22cm hexagon in White or Silver Grey, or in 66x66cm in all colours.

3. Cottage

Cottagecore was a completely unfamiliar term to me until a few short months ago. It seems this wholesome, simple take on cottage living is what so many people are looking for in 2021. Never before have we desired such a high level of escapism as we transfer ourselves from the makeshift office in the kitchen to our sofas at the end of the day.

Cottagecore brings an air of nostalgia that gives a gentle nod to simpler times. Ironically, times that didn’t exist in our pre-covid world full of rush hour commutes to which we had become so accustomed. Nevertheless, we love the softness and elegance of Cottagecore as a trend, and our offering is so aptly named COTTAGE.

This 30×90 decorated tile is a version of the geometrical patterns featured on traditional hydraulic floor tiles, reinventing their appearance through the use of tones that are neutral yet solid.

4. VERSO Burnt Orange

The VERSO range is so new to us the dust has barely settled in the warehouse!

Warm colours can be oh so welcoming in the sunnier months. You can be sure to see lots of burnt orange and peacock blues around this year and we can’t wait.

VERSO range in shade ‘Burnt Orange’

VERSO is not afraid to be bold. This is an impressive range that makes a striking statement in any shade. Plus, with all colourways achieving a PTV 36+ slip resistance rating, Verso has the performance credentials to back up its powerful colour palette.

5. SULLIVAN Lands

Artisan stoneware of coloured earth fired at high temperature.

Our list wouldn’t be complete without the SULLIVAN palette in ‘Lands’. This range brings 2021’s Global Influence trend to life.

Sullivan range in ‘Lands’

Global Influence is a trend inspired by earthy colour palettes and warm, natural textures perfectly accompanied by woven and rattan home accessories. This trend has been at the forefront some of the world’s biggest fashion houses collections; with the likes of Chanel, Valentino and Alexander McQueen taking Global Influence on the runway as far back as 2014 and covered by Harper’s Bazaar in their March 2014 issue.
